Hamilton Doak


Biography
Hamilton has a strong background and education in accounting, business and finance. He spent twelve years in the corporate world, and was a senior level executive at Blockbuster and Square D. Since 2004, he has been an entrepreneur and Angel Investor, starting or acquiring numerous businesses throughout the United States.


In 2010, Hamilton purchased Orisons Art and Framing Gallery on the Square in McKinney. While his time and financial resources support numerous local charities and non-profit organizations, he is always looking for meaningful ways to enhance the quality of life in McKinney.

Hamilton has a strong sense of duty to his country and his community. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and is a member of the American Legion Post 110, serving on the Finance Committee. Since 2011, Hamilton has been a member of the Rotary Club of McKinney, serving as Public Relations Officer and as a Director from 2012 to 2014. He served as Vice Chair from 2012 to 2015 and is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Chestnut Square, serves as an officer and is a lifetime member in that organization.

Hamilton shares a great appreciation of the arts. In addition to supporting area artists through Orisons Art Gallery, he led the McKinney Arts Commission as Vice Chair for three of his four years on that public board, and helped guide the creation of the city’s public art master plan. He co-founded the Public Art Collection of the McKinney Performing Art Center, ensuring its growth by contributing to the annual Unique by nature Juried Art Competition.

Hamilton was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Mobile, Alabama. He and his two daughters have resided in McKinney since 1997.
